Should you take field sobriety tests or a portable breath test?

What you should not refuse is a chemical test (breath, blood, and in some cases urine tests). Failure to take a chemical test after a lawful DUI arrest can result in automatic license suspension for a period of one year. To put it simply, yes you can refuse the field sobriety tests (walk and turn, one-leg stand, etc.) but you should not refuse the blood alcohol content (BAC) tests.
